Does AYO record my screen all the time?

No. AYO sends a screen picture only when you ask something that needs one, or when a proactive suggestion cycle actually runs, and proactive mode is off until you turn it on. Most timed checks only read the window’s title on your PC.

Can AYO read text inside images and PDFs?

Yes. AYO answers from a picture of the screen, so it works on anything visible, including scanned pages, images, and apps that do not let you copy text.

Three ways to show AYO your screen

Ask: in Screen mode, AYO answers about the window you are in. Crop: drag a box around part of the screen and ask about just that part. Hover: while AYO is listening, rest your cursor on a word or sweep over a chart and ask. It works on top of any app: PDFs, spreadsheets, code, slides, error messages, and games.

What gets sent, and what does not

A look at your screen stays on your PC until you ask something that needs a picture. Then only the picture that question needs goes to the vision model, and the app does not save it. Most timed checks only read the window’s title on your PC.

Answers "Heat the tube slowly, and wear goggles first."
“AYO, what does this error mean?”
Reads the error on screen and explains it in plain words.

What to know first

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only. There is no Mac, Linux, or phone version yet.
AYO needs an internet connection to answer. Only the wake word is detected offline, on your PC.
